What is an “API”?

An API (Application Programming Interface) is “a set of subroutine definitions, protocols, and tools for building software and applications.” (Wikipedia)

In contrast to a user interface, which connects a computer to a person, an application programming interface connects computers or pieces of software to each other.

API Development for SX.enterprise Integration

In 2006, Grey Wolf started the development of SX APIs for integration with SX.enterprise system. Over time, those APIs have grown and matured into over 150 APIs in the “pool.”

The architecture for Grey Wolf’s APIs is consistent across all ERP systems. A piece of software loaded on the SX enterprise system with access to that software from the Grey Wolf Connector server in our secure datacenter.

Unified API Services with Custom Options for ERP Systems

While there are different APIs for each ERP, the web services are standardized across all subscription users. This ensures consistent results from a standard environment.

In the case of custom ERP modifications, Grey Wolf is able to create custom APIs that are then isolated from the standard environment. This ensures consistency while supporting unique customer requirements.

API Development and Integration with Epicor P21 Systems

In 2016, Grey Wolf started the development of P21 APIs for integration with the Prophet 21 system. Over time, those APIs have grown and matured into over 90 APIs in the “pool.”

Prophet 21 in an on-premise environment allows Grey Wolf to install our own APIs to create the integration.

The customer installable download puts a small set of files on the P21 server (or another server with SQL access) that the Grey Wolf web services will communicate with to make the connections.

Is there a difference between Connectors for P21 and P21 Cloud?

Grey Wolf built the P21 Connector using their own APIs. The P21 Cloud Connector relies on Epicor’s Middleware Server APIs.

API Development for SyteLine Integration

Recently, Grey Wolf has begun development on a comprehensive suite of APIs designed specifically to integrate with the Infor SyteLine ERP platform.

Using Infor IDO Technology for SyteLine

Grey Wolf’s SyteLine Connector utilizes Infor’s IDO to enable read and write functionality to SyteLine.  As a “wrapper” around the IDOs this enables consistency with other Grey Wolf Connectors and an intuitive architecture for both Grey Wolf and third party developers.
